The Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA) Foundation supports scholarships for those pursuing their degree in or related to the tourism industry. The 2018 ATIA Foundation scholarship application is now available. Please click here for the application. Applications should be emailed to foundation@alaskatia.org by January 31, 2018.

Our very easy scholarship application is available through:www.alaska.academicworks.com. The application for UAS specific as well as UA Foundational scholarships can be accessed here. UAS specifically offers a few more scholarships that are important to know about (feel free to take a look at the attached scholarship information page). These need to be applied for separate from the scholarship app on academic works. I 1) Chancellor's Housing Award: Merit based housing scholarship available for APS recipients, UA Scholars, and students with a 3.5 GPA or higher and an ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1210 or higher. It'll offer 50% off of a students first year on campus housing costs as well as 25% off of the second year of on campus housing costs. Priority awarding startsMarch 1. 2) Alaska Leadership Initiative: Two-semester leadership program that will give students $2,000 off of their first year of housing costs. Priority awarding begins February 15 3) Verna M. Carrigan Scholarship: A one-time $3,000 scholarship available to degree-seeking students from Southeast Alaska graduating high school with at least a 2.0 GPA and attending UAS Juneau full time. Due on February 15.
Mahin and Saifulla Salemy High School Scientific Scholarship Deadline: May 31, 2018
This scholarship is offered by Shahram Salemy, MD FACS. It is open to high school seniors in the United States who have been accepted to and will attend college (either 4-year or community) in the United States, and have an interest in the sciences. Click here for details. The Associated General Contractors of Alaska, Inc. (AGC) scholarship program is designed to encourage students to pursue a career in the construction industry or a related field such as accounting, insurance & bonding, and human resources. Scholarship awards will be limited to individuals who plan to live and work in Alaska. Scholarship applications must be submitted no later than 4:00pm March 30th, 2018. AGC will award up to $20,000 in scholarships based on a scoring guide developed by the Scholarship Program Committee. Successful scholarship recipients will be notified in writing by June 1st, 2018 and their award will be presented at the AGC annual golf tournament reception on June 14th, 2018 at the AGC Anchorage office. Seniors planning to attend any University of Alaska campus should be sure to apply for UA scholarships by Feb. 15th. Each schools website has information on the process, but it is all done through UA Online. Click here for the UAF website that shows the UAOnline application process.

The BP Process Technology Scholarship supports training for students who are interested in a career in Process Technology. An A.A.S degree in Process Technology prepares you for employment as an operations technician in the process industry. The program appeals to people who enjoy the challenges of using advanced computer technology and instrumentation to operate a variety of equipment systems and industrial processes. Process technology is defined as the study and application of the scientific principles associated with the operation and maintenance of the chemical processing industry. The Alaska Rural Rehabilitation Corporation is offering two scholarships this year; $2,500 for an agriculture related course of study and a $1,000 unrestricted scholarship. Click here for additional information. Due March 21st.
