In 2010, the Copper River Watershed Project released a new scholarship program for seniors from the Copper River watershed who are graduating and pursuing continued education that will benefit the culture, environment, or economy of the region.
Two $1000 scholarships will be awarded annually in the spring to one graduating student from a school in the Copper Basin (Glennallen, Kenny Lake or Slana High Schools) and one graduating student from Cordova High School. Homeschool students in the region are also eligible to apply as well as students who have spent a significant portion of their schooling in the Copper River watershed but might not be graduating from a school in the region.
Download the 2019 scholarship application. Applications due April 5, 2019. Incomplete applications will not be considered, so please make sure all sections are completed.

The Warren N. Cuddy Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by ARRC and the Palmer Branch of First National Bank Alaska.
The scholarship name comes from Warren N. Cuddy who served as director on the ARRC Board for five years prior to his death in 1951; he also served as president of First National Bank of Anchorage for many years. In recognition of his contribution to ARRC and to the development of agriculture in Alaska, the Warren N. Cuddy Memorial Scholarship fund was established in 1955 to assist students in pursuit of a college education. The Warren N. Cuddy Memorial Scholarship fund is sustained by ARRC and the Palmer Branch of First National Bank, in behalf of the Cuddy Family.
This scholarship is available to high school seniors in the Matanuska Susitna Valley. Students outside the Matanuska Susitna Valley are eligible to apply for the agriculture related field scholarship only. Two scholarships are awarded each year:
(1) $2,500 for a student entering an agriculture related field and (Matanuska Susitna Valley & Surrounding Area)
(2) $1,500 for an unrestricted major (Matanuska Susitna Valley only).

The scholarship offers up to $2,500 per academic year to fund college, graduate, and vocational studies with renewal awards available by reapplying.  We invite applications from high school seniors or college and vocational students who wish to pursue a career related to the law, become advocates of Alaska Native rights, and defend the constitutional rights and civil liberties of the peoples of rural Alaska.
We must RECEIVE your complete application by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019.

The June Nelson Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of the late June Nelson, longtime school board member from Kotzebue. June contributed much to the cause of education, and will be remembered for her outstanding service on behalf of Alaska’s children. This 2018-2019 school year, AASB will award fifteen $1,500 scholarships to apply toward post-secondary education. Thirteen of these scholarships are available for graduating seniors and two may be awarded to returning college sophomores.

Areas of study that will be considered include, but are not limited to, counseling, social work, emergency medicine, pre-med, nursing, psychology (with a focus on addiction counseling or a substance-abuse related field). Applicants must submit an essay no more than 500 words describing why they are passionate about health care, with a focus on substance abuse and mental health. Essays can draw from personal or professional experience.

]]><![CDATA[Engineering Scholarship]]>Tue, 20 Nov 2018 22:19:21 GMThttp://counseling.crsd.us/seniors/engineering-scholarshipThe attached scholarship application is for high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in engineering.  Through our Alaska Engineering Education Foundation (AEEF) and Anchorage Engineers Week we fund several scholarships.  There are two AEEF scholarships awarded statewide--one for $2000 through AEEF, awarded as $1000 over a two-year period and a second, from ASPE is $1500.  There are also several awards offered at the local level through our annual Engineers Week celebration.  The number and amounts of those scholarships vary depending on the amount of money raised during our fundraising efforts.  Last year, over $20,000 in scholarships were awarded and some single scholarships were over $4,000!  This one application will place a student in consideration for MULTIPLE scholarships.
