The Associated General Contractors of Alaska, Inc. (AGC of Alaska) & Construction Education Foundation, Inc. (CEF) scholarship program is designed to encourage students to pursue a career in the construction industry or a related field such as accounting, insurance & bonding and human resources. Scholarship awards will be limited to individuals who plan to live and work in Alaska. Scholarship applications for 2015 are now available online at www.agcak.org on the training page. Scholarship applications are due at the Anchorage AGC office by 4:00 pm on April 1, 2015.
This scholarship is available to high school seniors in the Matanuska Susitna Valley, but students outside the Matanuska Susitna Valley are eligible to apply for the agriculture related field scholarship only. Two scholarships are awarded each year:
(1) $2,500 for a student entering an agriculture related field and (2) $1,500 for an unrestricted major (Matanuska Susitna Valley only). Click here for application information. Due March 31st. Each year, Senator Murkowski invites a total of twenty newly-graduated Alaskan high school students to intern in her office to learn about the workings of the U.S. Senate, the legislative process, and legislation that affects Alaska. There are two different scholarship programs available through Copper Valley Telephone. The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Scholarship is due March 2nd. The CVTC Scholarship is due April 3rd. Both applications and additional information can be found on the CVTC website by clicking here.
Scholarships will be awarded to individuals pursuing a certificate or degree in power equipment technology at an EETC accredited school. Applicants will be judged on their academic achievement, leadership activities, and student statement. Preference will be given to qualified applicants who exhibit financial need.

The INSPIRE Pre-College Program is a full scholarship open to Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian rising junior and senior high school students, including 2015 anticipated graduates, who want to spend 3-weeks on the George Washington University (GW) campus to learn about intergovernmental relations between tribal governments and the federal government.
