Kenny Lake School seniors are invited to apply for the Irene Tansy Memorial Scholarship. An application deadline for this year has not been announced, but students are encouraged to prepare applications now!

Application deadline for fall semester college attendees is JULY 15th. Spring semester scholarship applications are due by DECEMBER 15th. For high school seniors, planning to enroll full time at at four-year college in 2013-14, and plan to major in a field of study that focuses on engineering, technology, design or business, with an interest in the automotive industry. 1. To apply, students must submit an essay (double spaced, 11 pt font) no longer than 3 pages which addresses the following:
Academic achievement Community/school involvement Leadership potential Financial need How will the scholarship assist the student in meeting personal goals and aspirations 2. Students must submit a transcript. 3. Applications must be handed directly to your principal or Mr. Lorence no later than Monday, February 18th by 300 pm. 4. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of school staff. 5. One nominee will be chosen for each school. Juniors-Spring is a great time to take the ACT and SAT. Seniors-remember that to qualify for the Alaska Performance Scholarship, you must have a qualifying ACT or SAT score. Click here to register online for the ACT. This year the program will award scholarships to students in grades 9-12 living in the U.S. or Puerto Rico who plan to enter a full-time undergraduate course of study upon high school graduation.
1,100 students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship. If you’re a 9-12 grade student who plans to attend post-secondary education, have solid grades and are involved in community service or have work experience, we encourage you to apply! The Alaska Society for Technology in Education created a scholarship fund with The Alaska Community Foundation to support outstanding Alaskan students in the pursuit of technology education. The yearly scholarship will provide an award of $1,000 to qualified applicants. The Alaska Community Foundation will accept scholarship applications beginning January 21, 2013, and the deadline for applications is 9:00pm on February 18, 2013.
