Students completing grades 9-12 can participate in a week long teen leadership program at UAF May 31-June 7. You can earn two college credits. This program holds a monthly $1000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Click here for additional information.
The Launch! is a weekend orientation for summer conservation crews. If you are 15-19 years old and are interested in working on a 4 week summer conservation crew, this orientation would be great to attend. See the attached document for more information. Due March 1st.
Girls on Ice is a unique, FREE, wilderness science education program for high school girls. Each year two teams of 9 teenage girls and 3 instructors spend 11 days exploring and learning about mountain glaciers and the alpine landscape through scientific field studies with professional glaciologists, ecologists, artists, and mountaineers. One team explores Mount Baker, an ice-covered volcano in the North Cascades of Washington State. The other team sleeps under the midnight sun exploring an Alaskan glacier. YFU (Youth For Understanding) is an intercultural exchange program for U.S. high school students or recent graduates that want to experience another part of the world. Choose from a year, semester or summer program that allows you immerse yourself in another culture, learn a new language and live with a host family who will open their home and hearts to you. - See more by clicking here.

Scholarships Students and Parents: Please thoroughly review the attached listing of test dates. It is important that you look at sports schedules and other commitments you have when planning your test schedule. This year I added an earlier SAT, which is being held on October 5th.
