Wrangell Institute for Science & Environment (WISE) is supporting the recruiting of two students from the Copper River Basin between the ages of 14 and 19 to attend the World Wilderness Congress (WILD10) in Salamanca, Spain, from October 4 through 10, 2013. There will be two travel days before and after the Congress. Essentially the students would be out of the classroom eight days learning life changing experiences. The Computer Assembly component is the spark that illuminates a vision of a career in engineering or science for our high school students. Each participating student assembles a top-end computer and earns the right to keep it by completing trigonometry, physics and chemistry. The Alaska Summer Research Academy (ASRA) offers engaging and in-depth experiences in science and engineering throughout the year.
