Sophomores interested in attending a great leadership seminar can apply to represent their school at the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership seminar. The PSAT is coming up on Wednesday, October 16th. Information about the test can be found by clicking here. While it is important to take the test as a junior (your scores count for the National Merit Scholarship competition), you are welcome to take the test as a sophomore also (if space and tests are available).
Note that you must arrive at school by 8 am as we need to start the test shortly thereafter. Be sure to bring your calculator! Register by paying $14 at your school office. Any student in grades 5-12 that has participated in community service activities may apply. One student can be selected to represent each school at state-level competition. For application information, click here. Due November 5th!
Students and Parents: Please thoroughly review the attached listing of test dates. It is important that you look at sports schedules and other commitments you have when planning your test schedule. This year I added an earlier SAT, which is being held on October 5th. Note that regular registration for that test is due September 6th. While it is not common for sophomores to take the SAT or ACT, they are welcome to test if they want. I encourage college bound sophomores to take the PSAT. Mr. Lorence, Guidance Counselor
