Ayn Rand’s novels are inspiring and intellectually challenging. But they can also be financially rewarding for high school and college students.Students in 8th grade can also apply for this contest.   The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors annual essay contests that offer over 600 prizes and $100,000 in prize money each year. Sophomores interested in attending a great leadership seminar can apply to represent their school at the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership seminar.  Developing your leadership skills is very important, and this seminar will help you do this.  Applications are due November 15, 2013.  Application information can be found below.

The PSAT is coming up on Wednesday, October 16th. Information about the test can be found by clicking here.  While it is important to take the test as a junior (your scores count for the National Merit Scholarship competition), you are welcome to take the test as a sophomore also (if space and tests are available).

Note that you must arrive at school by 8 am as we need to start the test shortly thereafter.  Be sure to bring your calculator!  Register by paying $14 at your school office. 

Are you interested in leadership?  Business? Having fun? Earning two college credits?  At this week-long program you will work with business executives to write a business strategy, defend your business plan, earn college credits, and meet top business leaders. Rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors may enroll in SCAD Summer Seminars, a program designed to facilitate students' exploration of a variety of creative disciplines across the SCAD curriculum. These workshops are available to residential or commuting students and offer opportunities to meet other talented teens from around the world and experience a taste of university life under the guidance of SCAD professors and graduate students.
