Rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors may enroll in SCAD Summer Seminars, a program designed to facilitate students' exploration of a variety of creative disciplines across the SCAD curriculum. These workshops are available to residential or commuting students and offer opportunities to meet other talented teens from around the world and experience a taste of university life under the guidance of SCAD professors and graduate students. The Rural Alaska Honors Institute (RAHI) is a six-week summer bridging program that assists students in making the academic and social transition between high school and college. RAHI is for college-bound juniors and seniors who are willing to work hard and learn first-hand what it takes to succeed in college. Dates are May 28-July 12. Click here for more information. The Alaska Summer Research Academy (ASRA) offers engaging and in-depth experiences in science and engineering throughout the year. During the summer, ASRA offers two 2-week academies, a residential High School program, and a day-only Middle School program. Click here for more information. Due February 28th.

Students planning to attend a public university or training program in AK may be eligible for an Alaska Performance Scholarship, worth up to $4,755 per year, depending on the courses you have taken, your test scores, and overall GPA! If you're a junior planning to pursue additional training after high school (either four-year college, two-year program, apprenticeship, or certification training), NOW is the time to be previewing scholarships and programs that will be available during your senior year. Once a month or so, you should take some time to check out the scholarship listings on the "Seniors" page...just so you know what to expect next year.
