Choose Respect Poster Contest; Due April 14th

In commemoration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October 2017) and Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Awareness Month (April 2017), we invite all Alaskan youth to engage in creating a positive message about respect and healthy relationships.

All Alaskan school children from kindergarten through high school are eligible to participate.  Due April 14th.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program-Due January 15th

Students 15-18 years old can apply for a one year exchange program to Germany.  Full scholarships are available.  Application information can be found by clicking here.  Due date to apply is January 15, 2017.

Youth Alliance For A Healthier Alaska: Due May 15

The State of Alaska is seeking students ages 14-18 that are dedicated, resourceful, and creative, to advise the Alaska Division of Public Health on issues affecting teens such as substance abuse, violence, suicide, injury, teen pregnancy, nutrition, and fitness.   You will collaborate on a statewide community action project.  This is a great leadership opportunity.  Submit your application by May 15th.  The application can be found below.

Voyage Summer Camp; Due May 6th

This is a great opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to learn skills in career fields to include Outdoor Leadership, Culinary Arts, and First Responder with ETT Certification.  Students also have the opportunity to take Drivers Education.  You can earn 1.5  high school credits, and the program is free of charge!  It is located in Anchorage, and dates of attendance are June 8 to July 1.  Click on the two documents below for more information.  Due May 6th!

Young Native Writers Essay Contest; Due April 30th

Copper River Stewardship Program; Due March 30

Students currently in grades 8-12 can apply for this program that gives you the opportunity to float the Copper River from Chitina to Cordova June 27-July 8.  Students also earn .5 high school credit for successful completion of the program.  This is a tremendous opportunity that you won't want to miss!  Application materials can be found below.  Due March 30th.

Color of Justice Law Program; Due Feb. 5

Color of Justice is a law-related education program for female and minority youth in grades 9-12 featuring workshops, mentoring events and hands-on learning activities designed to promote awareness about potential careers in law and the judiciary.   It will run Feb. 25-26 in Anchorage. 

To be eligible for consideration, students must be an ethnic minority and/or female, in grades 9 thru 12.  Students are required to submit an online application that includes a Release of Liability Agreement signed by the parent/guardian, a stated willingness and ability to spend two days and one night away from home with travel to and from Anchorage, and identification of a confirmed host family in Anchorage.
